After his cele broke we had to tighten the hat down (it was full at first and straining to cover) and after we tightened it I said that it looked so much more like the Dr Seuss hat it was meant to be. Still love those overalls. They sat in my room today - laying on the carseat until today when we packed up. They were lined with baby blue fleece. Those suckers would've done well in the snow!

so, so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLOL! It's the Cat in the Hat - Joshua style.
ReplyDeleteSusie, I look at these pictures of Joshua and see the change in him from before the 'cele ruptured and my heart goes out to you all over again. He really did just slip slowly away, didn't he?
Susie,
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful pictures. You are such a loving child of God. He gave you a gift and you will treasure it forever.
You encourage me to seek Him more. The closer walk I have always wanted is in reach. I know this. You have given me the insight of just what God can do if only we seek His will and allow Him to take control.
Thank you.
Sonja
You should have a beautiful wooden chest custom made for his special things. Is till have things from my kids when they were babies, just a few things, but I am quite certain they aren't as precious as Joshua's.
ReplyDeleteWhat did you lay him to rest in? (I'm sorry if that is a terrible thing to ask... I really don't know what's on or off limits, you know?)
I just want you to know that you have all been in my thoughts. Take care of each other,
ReplyDeleteAmanda x
He is so beautiful!!! I love those Blue eyes also :)
ReplyDeleteI love his sweet face.
ReplyDeleteWow, to be honest, I have never seen such a beautiful child. I think what made him so beautiful is that he was so strong and brave. Susie, I believe God gave you Joshua because out of all the people in this world, you and your husband are the only ones who could handle him and love him(so much) the way he was. Not many people could do what you and Matt did, and that was give him the best life he could of had in such a short time. God bless your family and I hope that your life together is all that it should be.
ReplyDeleteHey Susie!
ReplyDeleteI love those pictures! He looks just like Oceana in that second picture. I'm praying for you. Grace Grace! I am praying your moving goes smoothly, Lord knows how hard it is to move with a toddler and with everything that has just happened. Love Ya!
I love that you are holding his hand in the last picture. He is just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI pray you are doing well.

A lady named Sonja said what I feel. Susie, I sure hope that all of us in blogland can be of some encouragement to you. Even just a little. But you should know that God is using you even in your hardest times (especially in your hardest times) to encourage His other children as well. I am so encouraged by you and by Joshua.
ReplyDeleteI sat here to write down the ways in which I've been encouraged and my post was just too long. Just know God is doing something wonderful all over the world through you and the life of your son.
More beautiful pictures Susie. I just love them and he truly looks so peaceful as he is saying his goodbyes to the pure love he received from you. I pray for you daily as this time is full of moving and saying goodbye to the home he was born into. Asking God to gently guide you through the move and the heartbreak you are experiencing now. Your faith has inspired me so much and Joshua has taught and continues to teach me so much about life and love.
ReplyDeleteLove you guys, Laurie in Ca.
On this Good Friday, as a momma, I have thought of Mary's heart as she watched her Son's life slip away and have lifted you in prayer so often my crumb snatchers no longer ask who Susie and Joshua are. Thank you for being so strong, transparent, and willing to show the world God's amazing grace.
ReplyDeleteSusie, I have a question; you don't have to answer it if you don't want.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened when the cele ruptured? What came out of it? What was left that you covered up in the picture?
Thanks. I'm sorry if that's too imposing!
Joshua was so beautiful Susie.
ReplyDeleteKeeping you all in my prayers.
Jessi.
He's amazing... just like His momma.
ReplyDeleteIt's gonna be alright. :)
He really was a gorgeous baby! Still praying for you all.

Thank you Suzie for allowing us this. It has really been hard for me to come through everyday since. I praise God for how gracious he was allowing us all the time to pray for you guys and for the time to prepare our hearts to let him go...to let him go to a place where he could not be loved more perfectly. It is hard to feel this empty spot that he created. I know it is nothing like what you're going through. I praise God for the change he has brought in my life through the life of Joshua but it is difficult to think he is no longer here.
ReplyDeleteI will be emailing your for your permission on a project I'm begining because of the change that Joshua has brought in my Life. Please look out for it.
Lovingly lifting you up in prayer.

What a cutie!! Overalls are adorable on him!
ReplyDeleteI heard about Joshua from someone on livejournal that had been reading your blog, and so I took the time today to read through yours. It was amazing and truly inspiring. Reading your blog made me realize that if you can go through that with your little boy with God by your side, I can go through my day serving God as well. Thank you so much for your blog. It has brought me closer to God.
ReplyDeleteHe is beautiful......so precious
ReplyDeleteOne gorgeous little chap.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful, moving pictures... I'm praying for you, and checking in daily to see how you are doing, and everytime you amaze me by your strength of character!
ReplyDeleteLove in Him
Rachel
He was a beautiful baby. It's been a few blogs since the last time I left a comment, so I will try to catch up.
ReplyDeleteI love the tatoo. Thank you for explaining the language. It really helps.
As for Joshua's clothing...IF you decide to have another child and using his clothes...I would probably set aside 1 or 2 outfits (like what he came home in) as special and not let them be worn by another child. I don't know how that would work in reality, but that's what I think I would do.
Love and prayers
Debbie
His eyes exactly match his overalls, don't they? Just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love the cat-in-the-hat hat.
BABY YAWN!!! SQUEEE!
I love looking at pictures of Joshua.
