Day 34

Hanging out with Mummy at the computer.

And what was Mummy doing? Blogging....

Oceana asked to hold Joshua again. She sits next to me and hits her legs saying, "Lap? Lap? Lap?" Until I let her hold Joshua.

She found petroleum jelly and smeared it through her hair and all over her face. This is post-clean-up. Her hair's permanently standing up. Gel can be subsituted with petroleum jelly apparently.

Joshua's head looked good today - I didn't see it. The nurse came the second I was getting in the shower. So they were done by the time I got out. It looks like the infection is gone. It's just an wound now. It's still leaking CSF.

It's shaping up to be a busy week. Pray for us!

  1. Love your pictures. Your babies look great, so do you. Oceana would make a great double for the Coppertone baby, she's so cute and has a great tan!

  2. praise God to see all doing good today. Here is a link for pet. jelly removal, hope it helps:

  3. Found your blog during the week and I've been hooked ever since. God is working miracles through your story even as far as Cape Town, South Africa. Even I am learning each day to pray and believe ... small steps.
Thank you for taking the time to tell us your story.
    Karen, South Africa

  4. What effect does the leaking have on Joshua, will it replenish itself and is the wrapping helping to reduce the leaking. How is O coping with all the attention on J? What is a typical routine for you guys?

  5. is that a smile i see in Joshua?? CUTE picture by the computer, what an apropriate spot to sit, cuz thats where we visit him daily... LOVE YOU JOSHY POO!!

  6. I've just discovered your blog and it's almost 2 a.m. - I have been reading since the beginning. Your family and little Joshua will be added to my prayers.

I have a Joshua, too. Mine's a wee bit older (but then, so am I). And Oceana looks SO much like my second child at that age it is uncanny!

But I had to comment on this post (with Oceana and the petroleum jelly in her hair) because it made me smile and recall many years ago when my Joshua did the same thing. Only he used petroleum jelly AND A&D ointment. I walked into his room because I heard him awake after his nap. I immediately smelled the A&D ointment and Joshua greeted me with, "Yook! Hinie cream!" It took about 10 shampooings to get all the "hinie cream" out of his hair. He never did that again.

That said, the boy still puts stuff in his hair. Just no more petroleum jelly or A&D ointment! :^)
