Urgent Prayer Need

Joshua's fine. Take a deep breath. No, this request is for me. I'm having another (yes... another) panic attack. I'm having trouble staying out of it. I usually try to get my head onto something else, but tonight my heart continues to race even though I'm lucid and in control of my thoughts. This is the 2nd since Joshua's birth - the closest together I have ever experienced panic attacks. Please pray that the panic subsides, my heart rate slows down and I can sleep again (it's 1:40am). I need some sleep desperately!

  3. Dear God please surround Susie right now with your peace - extend it in, on and around her. May your presence fill her with comfort and security, knowing that everything is in Your hands and safe. Quiet her with your love, Lord. Give her the strength and rest that she needs to continue being momma, wife, daughter and your child. Bless her and her family, let everything with the insurance work out in their favor, because you do take care of your own. Reassure Susie of that right now! Give her rest. Lord, please put your hand of healing upon her, slow her heartrate and cause everything to come into alignment. We come against any attack on her, Matt, Oceana and Joshua and plead the blood of Jesus over each of them. Strengthen, protect, heal and continue to work in each one! In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Love you & am praying continually!

  4. I know it's a little late, but I'm sending prayers your way. I hope you were able to get some sleep. It must be perfectly normal to feel as you do--you live with such uncertainty every day--yet you manage so gracefully. Could your dr perscribe something for you to help? Also, you have to remember that you've just given birth, your nursing, and your body is going through tremendous changes. Let yourself go through all these emotions, they're normal for any new mom. Hugs to you!

  6. Were you able to get some sleep? I pray that you will be able to take advantage of a nap today and that you will have a calm restful night tonight. You definately need it taking care of two little ones. ;) You are such an inspiration. God Bless!!

  7. I don't know what time it is there, but it's 12:20 pm here in TX. I am praying for you and will continue. I know about those attacks, and know they take on a life of their own, but also know that God can intervene. I am praying for the peace that passes ALL understanding to fill you and allow your mind to rest, and your body as well. You were created for this. God has not forgotten you. In fact, He is watching over you very, very closely. You are precious to Him and he is right there. Breathe.

  8. Calm down Susie! You are going to be fine. I can't imagine what you are going through and I am sure I would be in the same position if I were in your shoes. Try and relax and take a walk around (even though it is so late). I hope you feel better. Maybe there are meds you can take (just take them if you need to...don't try and be a hero to anyone).

  9. Hello Susie

We don't know one another at all - but I have been watching and reading your blog every day from the UK. Obviously my thoughts and prayers are with both you and Matt, Joshua and Oceana and all your extended family.

When you spoke of a panic attack I thought that there are some practical things which may help you deal with this absolutely natural and understandable response.
The first is is to try to accept that the way you are responding to what you are experiencing is quite NORMAL both phsically, emotionally and psychologically.
The second is to try and make yourself relax. There are various ways of achieving this, including breathing exercises and also working out what you are thinking which makes you feel that you are out of control and won't be able to cope. Panic I believe results from us believing that we cannot cope with the dilemmas/issues/problems which face us - they are too overwhelming. Try to find about some exercises which will help you to breathe and relax.
Next try and get your thoughts into some kind of 'perspective' - massive as I know that might seem.
You have had a panic attack before - how did you cope - learn from that. Keep telling yourself during an attack -I dealt with this before - i will be able to deal with this again. God I wish I could just sit and talk to you.

I am sorry if my contact is intrusive - but if I can be of help please let me know - I am just an ordinary Mum like you who has a tiny insight into what you are going thru.

    with love Liz

  12. My prayers are with you. If you don't start getting sleep soon and still have the racing heart you should rule out medical issues. Thyroid especially. Blessings!

  13. I am praying for your attacks to subside. I have had those and know how out-of-control you can feel. I have a baby with Trisomy18 and know how your rest and peace are so important. I have been keeping up with your site and I will pray for you.

  14. Hi Susie,
I too have suffered from panic attacks & have found abdominal breathing to be of great help during these moments (which is what they are, only a moment, I focus on this in my mind too). Found this excerpt from http://www.panic-and-agoraphobia.com/free-tips-coping-during-panic.html which sums it up very nicely:

    "Abdominal Breathing

Practice your breathing BEFORE panic strikes. Panic tends to make someone hyperventilate, making the situation worse. If you do special abdominal breathing, it should help when an attack hits you.

Take a slow, deep breath with your nose. Imagine the air going into your tummy, not your lungs. Watch your tummy swell with air. Don't let your chest swell. Practice this slowly.

Hold for 3 or 4 seconds, then gently release the air through your mouth. Let the exhalation part of the exercise be slightly longer than the inhalation. Don't overdo it. If you feel dizzy, stop.

When having an attack, instead of going tense, let go. Don't fight it. You can't. Instead, accept it and go absolutely limp. Just flow with it and let go completely. Just think to yourself, "Go limp."

These are all things that will help. It takes time, it takes practice. And it's certainly not easy. In fact, it is very, very difficult. That's why you need to practice, practice, practice."

If you keep at it, you will manage an attack better. And when you do, the fear of it gets less and less. Hopefully, these free tips coping during panic will make a change in your life.

Thoughts & prayers your way & hope this helps
    Take care,
    Mel

  15. Susie, no matter that you are a christian as we are, there are some practical things which need to be consider. You know, maintenance done on earth, sort of thing. But check it out with God first, to see what He thinks.

You are under a lot of stress, which pulls a lot of b vitamins out of you, and magnesium in a huge way. Antibiotics trash gut flora which will put more stress on your b-vitamin absorption.

Google magnesium foods, or if you want a faster method, buy a Magnesium and cramp bark supplement from a health food shop, and take about 1,000 mg a day for a week, then drop back to 800 a week. Google B vitamin foods, and increase them; cut out white flour and sugar as much as possible, and increase your vegetables and fruit, and these things may make a difference.

If you feel you need a supplement, just to tide you over the extra stress, there is nothing wrong with that, any more than using antibiotics is "wrong"... there is a time an place for many things.

Another useful device for you right now, would be a mosquito net which hangs up, and you could spread that out over Joshua while you are on the fly hunt, keeping yourself fit. :)

  17. Hi Susie
I know a lot late but I too used to have panic attacks when I knew I had to drive my car, I was told by someone through Elim to put on worship music and pray in the spirit during the panic attacks while driving, its been over 10 years since my last one. You can try it I'm sure it'll work since panic attacks are not from God.
