Meeting friends for the first time

Before I ever announced I was pregnant with Naomi, I had told friends online. Friends that didn't know *me*, simply my online tag and my little avatar. I felt the freedom to talk to these other women who were expecting babies in April 2009 and soon we became a tight knit group.

Our conversations continued on, almost every day, for over two years. It's been a fantastic resource - "Is your kid up in the night still?" "What does yours do when they are teething?" "Is this *really* chicken pox?"

But over time, they became friends. Close friends. Some of the closest friends I've ever had. Except, I'd never met any of them.

Well, we fixed that this week. Three of the eight of us got together --- Katrina & Luca and Brie & Maya came all the way to Harrisburg, just to hang out and meet us.

Maya was born the April 3rd, Luca was born at the 18th, and Naomi was born the 10th.

It was awesome to "meet" my friends last night. Here's to another day of fun! And pictures! ;)

  1. Oh that is lovely, I am the same with my online mummy friends. Our Dec 09 group is so close and some of the most supportive people I know, we share almost everything with each other.
A few of the different areas get together regularly and at the beginning of next year we are all getting together. This will be the first time that some of us have meet each other so we are all very excited about it.
Glad you have found a lovely bunch of ladies to share your concerns, achievements and growing family with. it is nice to hear there are so many lovely mummies out there :)

  2. I love this! I've had the great pleasure of getting to meet some of my online friends IRL and it's so exciting & sweet! My BFF & I have actually only seen each other 1 time in person. (Granted, it was a long weekend, but that just counts as 1 time, right?) We talk on the phone a lot, text every day, email all the time & chat on FB. I love my online friends!
