A walk

I promised myself [and the girls] that we would take a walk today. Oceana's a bit of a pansy when it comes to walking --- 2 minutes and she's complaining that she's tired, dizzy, and in pain. So I promised I'd wear Naomi and let her (all 40lbs of her 4 1/2 year old capable body) ride in the stroller. I was that determined to take a walk.

We found the shoes, changed out of jammies, forsook the shower, and headed outside.

But Daddy had a one-off job today working landscaping and he had the car.

The wrap and the stroller were in the car.

Ahem.

So we fashioned a sarong-wrap and headed out with Oceana's new umbrella since it was starting to rain.

See? Still determined.

I promised we'd walk to the library --- because libraries are like unto chocolate factories apparently.

So we walked. I sweet-talked, scolded, cajoled, encouraged, and downright insisted that Oceana keep walking.

We did it! We made it to Grampa's office (1/2 a block from the library) and stopped in to say "Hi!".

But Grampa burst out clever little library bubble.

Apparently our library is closed on Thursdays.

Thursday?

Really?

Well, it's a good thing Daddy was driving through when we left the office, because I doubt I'd have managed to get the girls home without the bribery of fresh books. :)

  1. I saw you walking....I thought it was you but wasn't sure, and then you were picked up by Matt before we had a chance to say hello. Maybe next time.

  2. I'm glad you were able to convince Oceana to walk with you & Naomi! How far is the library from your house?
