Get it outta' here!

*Phew!* I'm making headway here! One of the hardest parts [for me] about moving is the weeding out part. My Mum has always ascribed to the Layer Theory - wherein one must weed out in layers. It can seem easier to just do it once, but often I'll surprise myself by getting rid of more [another layer] on a second trip through a box. What's especially shocking? Sometimes the 2nd and 3rd weed out are bigger than the first!

Why?

Because desperate times call for desperate measures. Or something like that. Like I've been saying lately, "Ruthlessness Reigns!" I visited a friend recently who was also weeding out and was nothing short of inspired! Upon arriving home, I emptied another box-worth from the girl's closets! My closet's next!

Just because I have it, even if it fits, does not mean I have to keep it! Let it bless someone else!

Get it outta' here!

Case in point: That whole wall is stuff to get rid off in one capacity or another (selling online, giving to the teen mom's program, giving to the Salvation Army, or finding a friend who needs it).

So, be inspired this week! Get it outta' here!

  1. that's a pretty good pile! I need to do mine once more - it's been almost a year since I moved in and I did a huge declutter a few months after that. It's crazy how quickly it all builds up - love the layer idea though

  3. Howard keeps reminding me that we don't have to keep everything just in case! :) We think we are done with babies, but I am struggling, he reminds me daily that if the Lord chooses a different path with us, He will also bless us with what we need so we should let our stuff bless others now!

  4. You've inspired me! I have spent the whole day in the kitchen and have two boxes full of extras to gift to friends and then the op shop. I can't believe I had so much - well actually it doesn't surprise me that much - I op shop alot!
