ARGH

[The only reason it doesn't look that bad is because you can't see the doorstep/patio, 2 bedrooms, sink of dishes, computer desk, and 2 loads of laundry to be folded.]

ARGH ARGH ARGH

Why is it that jut when I think I've gotten on top of the housework, I turn my back for a moment, and discover that I am once again buried in a pile of rubble?

ARGH ARGH ARGH

And other computer emotives that express my resentment for clutter, dirt, lint, smelly laundry, and junk.

ARGH ARGH ARGH

There's a block (block=250g=8oz) of dark chocolate [that I've been working my way through] sitting in my fridge.

It's the 2nd one. I bought them together on Saturday.

Today is Tuesday.

Please don't judge me.

It's been an *argh argh argh* week/end.

ARGH ARGH ARGH

Excuse me while I go clean. Again.

Still.

Always.

  1. Honey, it looks bad. Even if we can't see the doorstep/patio, 2 bedrooms, sink of dishes, computer desk . . .

We've all been there or are there now. We feel your pain and stress.

    Hang in there!

  2. Totally know that feeling! I think it is an eternal battle that parents of young children face.

Just read Joshua's story. It made me cry...and smile. He's beautiful. =)

  3. looks like my house :) and don't worry about the chocolate...i destroyed more than half of a tray of S'mores bars between Thrus night and Sunday morning by myself.
Plus...dark chocolate is pretty guilt-free...it has a lot of antioxidants and a lot less fat and calories than milk chocolate :)

    hang in there!

  4. Isn't dark chocolate supposed to be good for you?! Our apartment looks like that. Actually, no it doesn't. It looks worse. And I haven't got any chocolate in the fridge to inspire me to go and clean up...

So is it birthday week for all you girls? You should gift wrap that chocolate! When oh when did our baby girls get so big? Seriously - 4 already? One year away from 5?! Please tell me that Oce had some serious almost 4 attitude going on, that magically has disappeared now that she is actually 4? Feel free to lie, so I can live in hope for the next two months.
Can you tell I really don't want to go clean up?!

  5. On a related note, this very morning I signed up for 'simplify101' weekly tips. So far nothing has changed. But I live in hope!

  6. Been there. Done that. Oce is big enough to pick up toys or trash on the floor. Break those child labor laws!! lol Of course, I am just kidding (about breaking the labor laws-not about letting her help pick up). ;-)

  7. We've all been there. And, you know, it probably doesn't matter that much. I doubt your daughters will reflect back on their girlhoods and think: It was fun, but the house was always messy.

  8. I understand completely... I don't even have kiddos of my own.. but I have a daycare.. I feel like all I do is say... "Please pick it up if you are not playing with it.. and run around changing diapers, cooking food, and running the sweeper is never ending.
I am also working on some Dove's Dark Chocolates... Thank goodness for Chocolate, and Dr. Pepper!!

  11. I still haven't put away my Christmas and Easter decorations, and we have an "empty nest" with NO little ones to blame it on. You are doing great...life is like a roller coaster where sometimes your house is as clean as you would like, and other times you are having too much fun with the most important people in your life to worry about what the house looks like! Don't worry, no matter where you are in the ride, it will all change soon!!

  13. Love the honesty! Like others have said we've all been there on the mess & the chocolate. Hope things get clean but you don't have to clean it and hope the chocolate is delicious!
