You'll probably recognise this cute face from all the pictures I reposted over the weekend.
This is Miles Taylor, the son of good friends from college/university. His parents - Bryce and Christina - were some of our few friends who got to meet Joshua and hold him, before he went home. They've spent a lot of time praying for our family - I know they have.
And now it's my turn to pray for them.
I don't know the particulars just yet, but little Miles was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes over the weekend. As far as I know he wasn't having any particular health difficulties, but was in the hospital over the weekend either during or after his diagnosis.
Please pray for Bryce, Christina, Miles, and his little brother Levi while they all adjust to the newness of Miles' condition. From what I gather, he'll be taking four shots of insulin a day, along with all the necessary finger pricking. I can only imagine what it's like to dofinger pricks for a 3 year old... Christina told me that several months ago Miles got pink eye and it was a hair-raiser getting the eyedrops in.
Love you guys! Hugs and kisses for Miles!
I will be praying for strength for Miles and his family. I was diagnosed as type 1 when I was 7yo. It is a liveable disease, but can be very stressful and trying at times. I know there are quite a few online support groups and www.diabeticmommy.com is a great resource for people who live with the disease every day. Good luck to Miles and his family!

ReplyDeleteWas wondering how you get your insignia on the bottom of your photos?

Awww...that's too bad. I hope Miles is feeling better now & yeah, I really can't imagine pricking my little one's finger all the time & shots, too! :( Sad!
ReplyDeleteI cannot even imagine.
ReplyDeleteI will keep Miles and his family in my thoughts and prayers.
It is so very hard for children to have health issues and even harder to explain when they question... Why?

I have type 1 diabetes and I can't imagine helping a child treat it. What a tough adjustment for him and his family. I will be prarying!
