That was the name of the kids free carnival that was run at a church near us this weekend. I walked Oceana up after *our* Sunday afternoon nap and watched her have some over-stimulated fun. There was so much going on, that her little nearly-three-year-brain was frying by the second trying to take it all in. She couldn't decide what she wanted to do or wait more than about 5 seconds for anything. But she had a great time and came home sporting a butterfly on her face and a balloon flower.
I wasn't sure how this ride was going to go. It went just a little faster than I think a [obviously] old swing should, since it's designed for toddlers. But she liked it, and besides a few grimaces at the end of the ride, she was fine. See those little while knuckles though? Oh, and do you have any idea how hard it is to catch the right focus on one child on a swing that goes around and around and still manage to catch her face? Hmm... let's just say I took a lot of pictures. And I'm glad, because I deleted over half of them.

The last time I let her get her face painted she was only a little baby and it DID NOT go well. But she sat very still and was absolutely elated when she saw her pink butterfly. She insisted to Daddy that it was a ladybug.
We finished the day by having breakfast for dinner at Gramma's house. It was a really fun day. I love that she's old enough to appreciate this stuff now.
wait until she has a little sister to join her!! so fun!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun day all around! Oceana is getting so big :)
ReplyDeleteShe looks like she's trying to sit really still so the painter can do a nice job. How cute!
ReplyDeleteOh heck, we missed it. We went with Sam last year for the first time and the kids LOVED it (oh and so did we!!!) Isn't it an amazing outreach. I remember last year hearing people say - wow this is great and everything is FREE!!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had fun!
We are having a very quiet day today. I'm still recovering!!
What amazing photos... love the sharpness, colors... kids are the best target for shooting photos.

ReplyDeleteI do understand the trying to get the perfect picture of a little one on a moving object. Thank Goodness for Digital Camera's. Saves lots of money. Out of 45 pics I had 2 that were clear and actually her. :)
Glad to see your having good days. Keep on doing what your doing.
