So the first person to comment was Tracy who said, "I would call it Susie and Joshua...3 months until introduction. Am I close?"
Well, no Tracy. Sorry you're not.
The next one is Anonymous.
American Mum said, "What?!?! Is that an old photo? Or are you trying to tell us something?"
Nope, not old. Why yes, I am trying to tell you something.
With a tripod and the timer.
It's me.
Last week.
Thank you for being so careful! Haha, so many of you made reference to this being an old photo, or some other person I photographed. :) But you were right - it's me, and it's recent. I'm good at keeping a secret, but let me tell you - this is why I've had nothing to say for a few weeks. I have nothing else on my mind, and thus cannot blog much. We've just announced the the wider public last night and this morning - we're nearly 13 weeks pregnant. and my belly's not that big, part of that is the shadow. We're due April 7, 2009.
However - the third time around the tummy goes "Kablooey" a bit sooner. Like, a month faster than Joshua, and two months faster than Oceana. I thought maybe I could keep it quiet longer. But people have been straight up asking me. It's not cold enough to wear sweatshirts all the time, so it's pretty obvious. Thank goodness I don't have to try on 80 things for church tomorrow to find something to disguise it. I was running out of reasonable options. It was "Tell" or wear a baggy painting shirt to church!
It's been an interesting time, and I'm still unsure of it all. I'm really excited now. We're had to ultrasounds and the baby looks perfect. We had the baby's nuchal translucency measured and it's well within the good range. I had her double check the baby's spine and skull (though it's too early to be sure) but it's definitely looking great at this point!
Someone asked me if I 'want a boy or a girl', and the truthful answer there is - "I don't know."
If it's a boy is it a replacement? If it's a girl are we missing out on having a boy to watch grow up?
But it doesn't matter, because this child's already got their gender sorted out. Whatever we get, we get! :)
And thank you for your tentative congratulations. :)
first of all...

You're so creative. Congratulations! If you have a boy, in my opinion, it would not be a replacement, Joshua will still be his big brother and someone that I'm sure will be talked about often.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Beautiful picture, I like it a lot. Wishing you a peaceful and happy pregnancy.
ReplyDeleteFirst off, that picture is absolutely beautiful! When I looked at that post this morning, no one else had commented. I started to leave one, but then I chickened out just in case I was wrong about when it was taken. Reading this post made my eyes tear up. Congratulations! :) And the picture is amazing. As far as the sex of this baby...like you said, it is what it is and you will love it no matter what, so it doesn't really matter. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, congratulations! Praising God with you for a healthy pregnancy & delivery!
ReplyDelete"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you" Yes, the gender is already known by our gracious and merciful God. And He knows his or her name.

Nothing tentative about it - Congratulations!!!!!! I've got one more prayer for your family to add to my list now.
ReplyDeleteAnd, honestly, I never would have thought it was a new photo - this was a total shock (and a GREAT one!). A third child - such a blessings. No child, even a boy, is replacing his or her big brother. This is just the perfect NEW addition to your family from a very loving God =)

Susie (I keep going to call you Sues, for some reason, but I never do incase you hate it *grin*)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, Susie, I missed the photo (grandfinal and all that) but oh, dear, I am so happy and excited for you. I shall add this extra little person to my prayers for you all. Big, big hugs, precious mother.
Congratulations!!! I actually screamed out loud when I read this. I'm so happy for you and your family. God Bless!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!! Prayers for all the best! I, for one, can totally understand a pregnancy bringing mixed emotions with it. Been there...for different reasons (not knowing how far I would carry)...but I've been there...just take it one day at a time : ).
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I'm so excited for you. Can't believe you kept it a secret this long!
ReplyDeleteThe picture is absolutely beautiful!
We will be praying we know that you are excited but it's also hard being pregnant for another baby when you've had to say goodbye to one (or more) especially when there were pregnacy problems.
You have many praying for you!
Tarah
p.s. don't think about if you want a boy or a girl God will give you what you need.
congrats susie!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!
ReplyDeletePraying for a happy, healthy pregnancy, and FUN time preparing for this new little addition to your family.
Congrats Suzie.
ReplyDeleteWe are due 6-7 weeks after you but have not made it public. We need to tell my sister and brother-in-law first. They got back from holiday today. My sister-in-law went for her last check up a week before delivery and found Zoe had gone to be with the Lord. That was 8 short weeks ago.
I'm so happy for you. I will be praying for peace, wisdom and calmness.
Still supporting you in prayer
Congratulations!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGod is sooooooooooooooo Awesome....
I am thrilled for you.
Enjoy and Praise God for yet ANOTHER miracle.
I'm always late but CONGRATS!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have some peace during the coming months and are able to enjoy being pregnant. After all they are a lot quieter when they are inside! : )
Congratulations!! I've been reading your blog for months and have never commented, but I just had to let you know that I have been (and still am) praying for your beautiful family.
ReplyDeleteAll that comes to mind is Psalm 139. I knew you in your mother's womb.....you are fearfully & wonderfully made. Beautiful, Susie! Congratulations!!

ReplyDelete("Dracomama" from the January BF boards)
Congrats a MILLION times over! I have lately been following your blog from my sister's blog (Hannahbananna)and I love reading it. :) Being pregnant too, it's refreshing to see your honest thoughts about things I have thought too...(I am a first time mom-to-be who lives and works on a college campus...so no one really to relate to here for this whole experience)...anyway, sorry to ramble on, but I saw your updates and just wanted to wish you a GIANT CONGRATS!!!
ReplyDeletecongrats-i've been a random lurker on your blog, and I'm so happy for you. I'm from Lima ;) Our 2nd daughter was stillborn @ 41w last year, and we are expecting baby #3 in march (but will deliver in february)
ReplyDeleteSo even though stillbirth is a bit different than what you've gone through, i think losing your child at birth or shortly after puts us all in the same loss mama club :( God is good, and He's helping me keep my sanity so far in this pregnancy-it's more challenging than i thought it would be!
*hugs* to you.
JEN
It's been a while since I've come here. To my wonderful surprise, you have a surprise for us all!!!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS to the Sams Family!!!!!
*hugs*
