Today?
Today I am sitting at the dining room table on the laptop. It's raining. Raining hard. Not as hard as it was at 6am. At 6 I woke up to rain on our tin roof (that's the NZ way, no I don't live in a shack). It was so loud I couldn't sleep! Wow!
But my lovely husband got up at 7 with Oce and let me sleep in. I'm starting to feel human again.
I lost so much sleep in Samoa. It was a great time, I wouldn't trade it. But oh my word, I don't remember being that tired before! Up in the night with a screaming newborn has a point - up in the night with a screaming 2 year old makes you think, NOBODY ELSE DOES THIS!!!!! I want sleep!
I realized how tired I was when I talked to my sister twice in the last few days and realized I didn't know what she was saying. I was so tired I'd reverted to "Uhm. Uhm. Yeah." And didn't know what was going on. Haha.
There's a pile of folded laundry - clean stuff from yesterday's laundry, clean stuff from our bags, clean stuff from the drying rack I loaded up before we left. And I'm eyeing it up. I need to put it away. Oh, and I need to scrub bright pink lipstick out of the carpet. You'd think that after 2+ years I'd learned NEVER trust a quiet kid?!?!?!?!? AK! I should have taken a picture, there was lipstick from ear to ear, nose to chin. It's on her teeth too. And the carpet. Yay....
Hubby's home - he realized he left his lunch. :)

A man without food is NEVER a good thing. Glad he was able to come back and grab it :)
ReplyDeleteI would lend a hand scrubbing if I could!

I'm glad to hear you got to sleep in. That was nice of hubby. :)
ReplyDeleteLipstick...... Hmmmmm quiet child. Hmmmmm. Yep a dangerous combination but kinda fun to see the artistic ability in your offspring huh? LOLOL
Welcome home.
I love the rain, its soothing to me.... I hope you get some sleep.
ReplyDeleteI have a screaming almost-two-year-old during the nights too. So, next time you're in that position (hopefully never), you can remember there is at least one other person who deals with it.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get some sleep soon.
