Visit American Mum if you want to know more about Wordless Wednesay with a Twist.
This one really had me frustrated. And as much as I wanted to take pictures of the school uniforms at the high school down the street - I knew I'd get some weirds, and possibly angry parents. So I resisted. Which then left me without an idea, and nothing was coming! In my efforts to take some good pictures tonight, I discovered my old faithful sweatshirt was the most interesting uniform in the house.
This sweatshirt and I go way back. My mom went to this university in the 1970s. She saved her class sweatshirt, and I wore it a lot in high school and college. It was one of my favourites during junior year in college. I was involved with some of the school fundraising that year, and the sweatshirt design was something we were working on. When I first started talking to Matt I was jotting down ideas - a replica (and much cooler version) of the '76 sweatshirt design. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of the old one.
I wore this sweatshirt while I dated. When I got engaged (probably ON the night I got engaged actually, since it was my only good sweatshirt). When I was planning our wedding. This sweatshirt was just big enough to squeeze over my Oceana-belly in 2005 and 2006. It was my favourite sweatshirt the winter we moved to NZ (June - September 06).
And this sweatshirt was the reason I kept my Joshua-belly a secret for as long as I did. Yay for winter weather and big sweatshirts. My poor sweatshirt is now so worn out that it's got bleach spots on the sleeves, it's more gray than black, the screenprinting is cracking, the ties are linted and ugly, and it's like cardboard inside. But I love this sweatshirt.
And if there is a "Susie Uniform". This is it.

I love that design. And I love sweatshirts! I have a few "unifrom" sweatshirts myself.
ReplyDeleteI don't think you linked up, so I'll do it for you. I imagine based on NZ time you must be sound asleep by now! :)
I wear mine all the time too. It's the best ever sweatshirt
ReplyDeleteGotta love a tried and true sweatshirt. Mine is an Air Force one that was Daniel's back in the basic training days. Love that thing.
ReplyDeleteHope your day is not a seat shirt day, but instead, a sassy, swing that pony tail kind of day :)

Hahaha...you always make me laugh Susie :) Most days my uniform consists of shorts, a tee-shirt, and a ponytail. But you manage to look cute even in a baggie old sweatshirt :)
ReplyDeleteYep, that's the Susie uniform. I remember it well :)
ReplyDeleteYou look so comfortable! I need a "uniform" like that :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so darn cute. My favorite Maxine maxim is "The best bra is a sweatshirt".
ReplyDeletepretty much my uniform! Only I can't wear comfy stuff to my job :(
ReplyDeleteI love the uniqueness of your idea for uniform. I was stumped. This was going to be the first wwwt. I couldn't come up with anything creative. I guess it will take some time for me to get rolling!!
ReplyDeleteI have that sweatshirt too! I love the design.
