Oh my feet, oh my legs....

Havalah and I had a great idea today. Too bad we didn't completely think through it. Matt was playing soccer today about 10 minutes drive from our house. Havalah and I were planning to take a walk, and I thought it would be a good idea to walk to the soccer game. Too bad we didn't look at the map before we left. I was sure I knew where the park was. Ooops. I guess not. On the way back, we took a much shorter route, minus my enormous detours, but unfortunately we were tired and a lot of it was uphill. We were gone for 2 1/2 hours today, and we only were at the game for 20-30 minutes. To be fair, it wasn't Havie's fault - it was mine. I'm slightly more in shape than Havie, so I pushed her. She was hurting a long time before I was. And I pushed her a lot. Poor thing. But about 4 or 5 blocks from our house I started to feel the pain. My feet. My calves. My thighs. The lot.

Ouch.

But I'm proud of my 10km walk (from what we can tell).

********************************

I had a frustrating day today. I woke up late, rushed to get to church, got frustrated in the car, and had a Joshua-moment when I got there. The last few days there's been an ad on TV for a show about lions. On of the baby lions reminds me so much of Joshua that it's uncanny. Perhaps I just miss Joshua. But tell me what you think: It makes me miss him every time I see it.

If you need a picture to compare it to, check this.

  3. I agree... isn't it weird the things that will remind us of other people/events/things. Maybe that lion was meant to show you that like every lion being strong and courageous and king of the jungle that Joshua is happy, strong and healthy where he is now. He's watching over all of you as your guardian angel so that when you're not feeling strong he'll help fill that void for you by letting you see something that will remind him of his strength and the love you have for him

  4. Wow, great job on the (unplanned) marathon walk!! LOL

I can totally see why you see Joshua in that lion cub - that's pretty neat. I hope that it doesn't make you sad to see that lion, just that it makes you remember all of the wonderful days you had Joshua with you.

  6. I see the similairities too! Joshua was so beautiful! There is something very sacred and majestic about a lion. I think it is awesome that Joshua resembles something that embodies those attributes.
