If you're the praying type

******I NEED TO ADD THAT THE DIAGNOSIS HAS NOT BEEN MADE! AND THAT AUTUMN DOESN'T THINK ITS SBS AT ALL. PLEASE DON'T THINK I'M SAYING SOMEONE HURT NATALIE! The symptoms just "resemble" SBS********

While I was pregnant with Joshua I was part of a Mommies-by-Month group online at babyfit.com and met up with a lot of really cool women. One of them - Autumn - had her daughter Natalie early. Natalie did great, and came home, started gaining weight - no real issues!
This morning I was lurking around the group - since I feel strange posting now - and saw that she's in for brain surgery! Basically Autumn came home one day and whoever'd been watching baby said she hadn't eaten all day, had just slept and slept and they discovered her soft spot was bulging. They took her to the ER and they said she showed signs of Shaken Baby Syndrome. They don't think that's the appropriate diagnosis, but there's no answers yet. Anyways, she's got blood around her brain and is going to have surgery to drill holes in her skull and release that fluid. The brain under pressure is really not good! There's no exact details on her blog, but from what I can tell she's in surgery TODAY. Please pray for Autumn and her husband Thomas, and for little Natalie who's nearly 5 months, but only 11lbs still - she's a teeny girl.

  2. Oh gosh... I hope this doesn't get nasty for the parents. Of course, I will pray. Let us know, yeah, when you hear more?

  3. Susie, thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers for my baby girl. Her surgery is scheduled for 8.30am EST on Wednesday morning. She is doing well but has quite an enlarged head as well as a bulging soft spot at this time. This truly has been a nightmare for my husband and I but we walk by faith and have continued to do so throughout this entire ordeal. When we first realized how close we came to losing her the pain I felt was unbelievable and I remember thinking about you and Joshua. I cant imagine what it would be like to lose her but I know that through your testimony that whatever happens God will walk beside us and with us. You are always in my prayers and we appreciate yours.

  4. I haven't been on babyfit for awhile now since giving birth, but I still read all of Susie's (Travellingmummy's) blog. I am so sorry to hear that baby Natalie is having problems. My prayers are with the family and I hope she makes a complete recovery. I will have to go on babyfit again. ~Angie (Fifthmiracle)
