Susie,
ReplyDeleteThis is just gorgeous
I LOVE the writing at the end, and i love the way you ended it - met Jesus face to face... see you when we get there.
Just beautiful - simple words but so moving. Sitting here crying as I think of all you've lost
There were some images in the movie of Oceana and Joshua together that made me realise too just what she has lost. How is she doing as the days move on?
Beautiful video, Susie. I'm so glad the service was everything you wanted it to be. I will continue to pray for you for the journey ahead.
ReplyDeleteMuch Love, Jennie (from BF)
Oh Susie! What a beautiful video and I'm so glad the service was everything you wanted it to be. These were just wonderful songs to play and I loved seeing Joshua's little smile (I don't think you ever posted his smile). He is absolutely beautiful and now I can see him smiling with Jesus.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing and my husband and I are still praying for you guys.
Truly Amazing!
ReplyDeleteThat was beautiful! I pray for you all every day.

Perfect. Absolutely perfect. The tears streamed down my face. Wasn't he ticklish! You did a beautiful, exquisite job, Suzie.
ReplyDeleteSusie-
ReplyDeleteThe video was a wonderful reminder of Joshua's beautiful life. Now I have tears streaming down my face, not for Joshua because we know he is healed and full of joy and already celebrating eternal life, but for you as you miss him as you wait until that wonderful reunion. MY three year old daughter watched the video with me and sheis now making a card for Joshua. I asked her where Joshua is and she said up in heaven I said how are you going to get the card to him she said soon she will go up in heaven and take it to him. (I hope not to soon.) Just wanted to let you know of another little life he has touched.
Hugs and Prayer

Susie,
ReplyDeleteI loved the video. What a sweet boy. Dave and I have been praying for you, Matt, and Oceana. May God wrap his loving arms around you. There's a song I wanted to tell you about. It's a Natalie Grant song called "Held" you can listen to it here www.myspace.com/nataliegrant
She wrote it for a friend who lost a baby at 2 months. I'm not sure if it was a miscarriage or shortly after birth, but it really has comforted me.
Holding you up in prayer,
Rachel
This is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteThat was absolutely beautiful, Susie. I loved all the pictures, but my favorite was the list at the end.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to put the video on my blog (www.ramblingsbyreba.com), so others can see it, too.
Much love to you, your hubby and Oceana.
We love you all.

Susie, Thank you for sharing. What a wonderful video documenting such special moments with Joshua. I can't tell you how much it meant to me to see him smile in those videos. What a precious smile.
ReplyDeleteMichelle
Just beautiful Susie!! You guys are in my thoughts and prayers! How is Oceana doing? I hope ok! Joshua changed my life so I wanted to say Thankyou for that.....
ReplyDeleteSusie,
ReplyDeleteI've been reading your blog since someone posted it on the April 2007 babyfit site. It is the first thing that I log into when I get to work, and I was always so excited to hear of your latest adventures with Joshua, dreading the day late last week when I heard that first it broke, then checking hourly to see how you were all doing after that. I found out that he died about 30 minutes before my Friday night bible study, and we all prayed for your family there.
I am so glad that I watched this video at home before coming into work today. I guess seeing the video of Joshua, versus only seeing still pictures previously, made it all the more real to me. Seeing your love for him and how peaceful he was, was amazing. I cried like a baby, for you and your baby.
I have cherished the 11 months that I have had with my daughter, but I seem to be holding her more closely these days, and realize that her health is truly a blessing to us.
You are wise beyond your years and I appreciate what you have done for so many families by telling your story here.
We are praying for you. Kristin
Susie and Matt - what a beautiful collection of video and photos. Joshua was a beautiful baby - I'm so thankful that you had the blessing of 67+ days with your wonderful son. And obviously he was showered with love and hugs and kisses! Thank you so much for sharing this part of your lives with all of us "anonymous" folks out here in cyberspace - your courage, your faith, and your love for this little man have blessed and inspired everyone who has been following your story! I will continue to pray for all of you -
ReplyDeleteGod bless you -

ReplyDeleteABSOLUTELY THE MOST BEAUTIFUL TRIBUTE, EVER! Well done, Mummy! Thank you for sharing the video. Joshua was (and will remain) so pure of heart. He exemplified all things pure and brave. In his short time here on earth, he indeed lived a full life...He was and will remain so beautiful...He has touched my heart so deeply and so profoundly. God bless you all! I am praying for your peace and strength as you adjust to your "new normal."

Thank you so much for sharing with us. Thank you so much for sharing you little miricle and your family with us. You are so strong and corageous. And in his 67 days and 7 bonus hours he taught us more then some people have in 99 years!

Susie - My heart aches because I know you miss your boy. But all I can say after that video is WOW! In such a short period of time, Joshua's life touched so many. I can't for the life of me see how someone could look at his life and not see the hand of God in every blessed moment. I am so thankful for the things you, Matt and Oceana got to experience with your sweet boy! Praying for your comfort through this grieving process.

Matt and Suzie:
ReplyDeleteThis is a moving tribute to your son.
With countless others, you have been in our prayers from the start.
Who is equal to such mysteries and trials? None, its seems, but He who has sustained you through them.
Can a person rejoice and grieve at the same time over the same situation? It will seem strange to the world that you do so for Joshua. But for those who walk with the "man of sorrows" who came "for the joy set before him", the two are not at odds. May God continue to aid you on that strange but glorious road.
Yours in Christ,
Larry Knowles

I'm crying right now as I type this. It's one thing to see pictures and little video clips of Joshua with the hiccups, but the video of him smiling just makes him more real, more familiar, more endearing and I can see and feel how strong his perfect spirit is and I miss him, even from half way around the world.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are getting through each day as well as you can right now, Susie. I'm continuing to pray for you. Your video is beautiful. I'm going to put it up on my blog.
What a beautiful tribute to your beautiful son. Thank you so much for sharing him with us.
ReplyDeleteabsolutely beautiful and a testament to who Joshua was on earth and is in heaven......God bless you.....you and your entire family and nurses, and all those close to Joshua are in my prayers. God bless you
ReplyDeletethis is awesome! tears are flowing...

Susie,
ReplyDeleteThat was absolutely beautiful. I loved the pics of Oceana leaning over and kissing Joshua, towards the end of the video, especially the one where her eyes were closed. It was as if she was saying, "I love you sooooo much, little brother" in her very own way. Thank you for sharing this.

Thinking about your family every day at least. As we're learning more bad news about my baby's spinal cord, I'm still thinking about you all and it makes me appreciate our situation...appreciate having the opportunity to get to take care of him still.
ReplyDeleteSigh...I just wish I knew the right words to help you and your family. I don't, so I'll stop now and just send my best prayers and wishes and hopes instead.
Take care,

ReplyDeleteThe video is lovely. Joshua crammed so much into his little life, and had such an impact on so many people all across the globe.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad his service was everything you wanted it to be - I look back on my son Will's service as a time of peace, and as well as the inevitable grief, a time of rejoicing in all that he had been and all that he meant to us.
'You, our sweet boy,
Have taught us to cram
A lifetime of love
Into such a short span.'
Take care Susie and Matt, and be gentle with yourselves.

Susie - Its absolutely beautiful, you guys shared so much love in way too short of a time- Joshua is so lucky that he had you as his parents - you did such a wonderful thing choosing his life even though you knew you would eventually lose your sweet angel. I hope that you can start the healing process , Know that there are many prayers being sent your way and let God help you find the strength to make it through this loss. I finished my project for you and I will send it tomorrow- probably to your office since Im not sure how long it will take to get there and I dont want to chance you not getting it. Take care,
ReplyDeleteElisha

Susie,
ReplyDeleteWow. Awesome video for an awesome life used by God. As the father of Jacob Fahmer (fahmer.blogspot.com) we've been travelling a very similar path these days. And while I can't claim to know all of what your family is going through, we've had similar situations and I have to say that it's good to see you being honest and trusting God through those honestly difficult times. Be strong and courageous. Don't grow weary in doing good. Trust that He who has begun a good work in you will fulfill it. You, and all that you touch, are being conformed to the image of Jesus through this situation. I hate being the one going through pain... but God does bring beauty from pain. I've had numerous people talk about "Jacob" writing a book as well... and I encourage you to do it. I know that we're going to make our own, if nothing else, just for ourselves. I think it would be interesting to have a compilation book of stories about Joshua's, Jacob's, Eva's and others around the world who are going through similar things around the same time period. Anyways... May God continue to uphold you and strengthen you and your family while you go through this trying time of moving and such ... and then may He bless you with time to enjoy one another as a family as you seek Him.
Jason Fahmer
Susie, Thank you for sharing this with us all. I found your story to be moving as well as uplifting. It is wonderful to see how much you were blessed by your son's life and see something of the influence that he is having across the world. Awesome! When I saw your photo I thought I knew you, then I realised that I just reconginsed Jesus through you. I look forward to meeting you all one day in eternity.
