A tooth.
No. I'm not kidding. I have no idea how he managed to pop a bit of tooth through! Matt and I are amazed...
I'm happy, but at the same time, we're worried because he seems to be deteriorating.

A tooth!? That is amazing...
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear he seems to be deteriorating.
I'll be praying.
We love you.
Dear Susie - I am one of the anonymous thousands who read your blog and I do so every day with love and amazement. While I am not very religious, your dedication to God and Jesus inspires me each and every day. You, Matt, Oceana and Joshua are in my prayers constantly.
ReplyDeleteThe tooth is so neat!!
May God be with you in the days to come. I cannot imagine what these days are like for you. I hope you feel the love and support of all those praying for your son and family. Joshua's life has been a blessing so many that you have touched with your blog. God can do anything, Joshua has proved that we do not know everything and that God is in control. Joshua is a blessing for your family and so many others.
ReplyDeleteI hope today is filled with Joy and Peace for all of you.

I'm a blog reader and until now nothing more than a reading lurker but I have to comment on yours. I don't have your faith but yours is inspirational and has certainly made me see things in my life in a totally different way...in that way I guess your faith has worked its wonders on one more person. I would just like to wish you and your family all the very best in whatever the future holds and to add never give up hope, after all, you never thought you'd get this far. Keep your chin up girl, youre in my thoughts.

susie - hi! sorry it's been so long for a comment! i've been reading & updating on where you guys are at - we are praying for peace for all of you! i appreciate your honesty on your blog, it's refreshing. thanks for the feeding tips on fenugreek (sp?) - it's helped me too with my milk supply in going back to work! though i wish i could express more, my heart is overjoyed at every milestone and aches for you and what is to come. we would like to receive your updates about your ministry...standing with you in prayer, your friend Anna
ReplyDeleteWow, a tooth, now that's amazing. I am praying for all of you Susie and for your hearts as Joshua goes through changes in this plan God has for his life. I thank Him for the 66 days He has blessed you with so far, and for the loving parents you are to your children. I can't imagine how hard this is for you but I know He will give you strength for each day to get through. Asking Him to carry you close and make His presence known in every breath you take and remove the fear and worry as much as possible. May He be your everything in everything and protect you. I won't stop praying.

LOL...I so did not expect that! A tooth?? Just another testament to how strong your peanut is. My Lord! Teeth are huge ordeals in our home usually accompanied by an ear infection, rash, up at nights, etc. Your little man never even complains. He's amazing.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear you think he's deteriorating. That must be terribly sad and scary for you. I hope you can keep in mind how much love and comfort Joshua will have whenever his final days might be. I was thinking about how much dignity he gets to have. Imagine if we all got to spend whatever our final days were in the comfort of our Mommy's arms--feeling her skin, hearing her heart beat, smelling her smell, and knowing there is no other place on earth that is as great.
I hope that you find some comfort in knowing that there are thousands of us who are with you during your journey. Hugs!
A tooth! Whooda' thunk? I just recently stumbled accross your blog and have 'caught up' on your beautiful family and mission in New Zealand. #1. . I'm mom to a 21 month old little girl too so I've thoroughly enjoyed seeing Oceana's pictures. Is she just gorgeous or what???? I love her most recent 'eyes' picture. Our Ally has similar eyes but Oceana's super light hair and New Zealand tan makes her super striking.
ReplyDelete#2. . .I've enjoyed seeing your knitting projects. I sew and knit but I'm more adventurous with sewing. I'm dying to make Ally some summer dresses. If you sew I've got an awesomely simple pattern idea to make little girls dresses from thrift store men's button-up shirts :) Let me know if you're interested and I bet you could make some awesome ones for Oceana since you're so creative.
#3. . I laughed out loud at your orange-pepper dinner disaster. Mine involved pepper too! My mom used to make wonderful beef stroganoff. . .I try to duplicate it for my wonderful husband and well, imagine yours without the overwhelming orange essence. LOL! yea. . .just pepper. Pepper stroganoff is how we refer to that incident now. Live and learn :)
Please don't worry about making this 'viewable' on the blog. . it is long and other people already know how beautiful Oceana is :). . I just wanted you to know that I was touched by you, your beautiful family and your journey. Many prayers are coming your way from Ohio as you continue to soak up the blessing that is your Joshua. What a gift these past two months have been!

Isn't it incredible that as we are living, we are dying ... and vice versa. Joshua is getting to do almost all of the "normal" newborn things, and most importantly, he feels your love and concern.
ReplyDeleteImagine being a baby... being Joshua ... and even though there might be pain or discomfort, he can still feel his Mama's warm breath on his face as you rock him to sleep. Imagine how comforted he is by that. What a lucky baby to have been born to your family.
Precious boy ... I dread the day when I open your blog to learn he is gone.

ReplyDeleteA tooth?!?!? What a surprise for such a young baby!
ReplyDeleteOceana's picture in the last post is GORGEOUS!
I will certainly be praying for you all as I go about my day today. I know Joshua will be on my heart and in my mind constantly. (I'm the one who has a Joshua as well.)
WOW!!!
ReplyDeleteAnother 1st.
Praying for you guys!

I wanted to pop out of the woods, and tell you that since you posted on babyfit, I've visited the blog a couple of times, and everytime, I feel the joy and the pain, and my eyes fill up with tears.
ReplyDeleteJoshua is a little miracle, and our thoughts are with you.
Woo Hoo!!! A tooth!!
ReplyDeleteCelebrate every little thing. He had a first this is a joyous occasion.
My prayers are with you.
Bobbie
Maybe the tooth explains why his milk input has decreased... I'll pray that it played a part in his not feeling well, and that he stays here in your arms for a while and filling you with tons more love and happiness, and a few less worries.

Add this to Joshua's accomplishments list.
ReplyDeleteAnd if you are still breastfeeding - WATCH OUT!!! lol

HAHA on the new tooth and congrats! My oldest daughter was born with two teeth.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes Oceana has gorgeous eyes she is a beautiful little girl. I am praying for her during this time. While she may not know exactly what is going on she senses that things are different with mommy and daddy. I pray that God sends you people into her life that can come and play with her so you can enjoy loving on Joshua.

Wow, well done Joshua. The little fella really is full of surprises for you.
ReplyDeleteHe is such a busy boy! He is lucky to have you and your loving family. He is really working at getting things done here! Always constantly praying for you and your family and for the comfort of baby Joshua.
ReplyDeleteElyse, my 2 year old daughter, is sitting with me while I write this and insists that I tell Oceana "Hi". So, "HI!" from Elyse to Oceana.
I read this on another blog and thought of you and your precious family. It is kind of long... Praying for you all!
