Our youth group

Back: Susie, Oceana, Matt, Evan, Josiah, Seth, Eze[kiel], Zech[ariah], and Sam.
Front: Abby, Keryn, Hannah, Micah.

We took our youth group out to lunch today at Kwangchow Restaurant (Yes, that would be Chinese!). We had a fantastic time - although the last hour was very tiring. I was ready to come home. But that's what 6 hours with teenagers will do to you. Especially 10 of them.

People question our involvement with the youth group - as in - they wonder why we bother doing youth group when we're expecting our son to pass away in the next few weeks. And the answer to that is: I don't know. For Matt, perhaps his reasons are different, so I can only speak for myself.

1. I love these kids. As much as they (occassionally) drive me crazy, they are a riot and so much fun to be around.

2. I am committed to being there for these kids.

3. It keeps me occupied, instead of sitting at home feeling sorry for myself, or worrying about stuff I can't change. (I do enough of that as it is, I can do with a few more hours of it!)

4. How else do you fit church, lunch, shopping, and a game of football into 6 hours of time? Plus 2 1/2 hours of driving. Hehehe.

PS. This picture is today. Thank goodness for a small tummy. How in the world can you gain less, have a smaller tummy - and still manage to get stretch marks??? Someone answer me this.
