There are no words

We lost our baby on Christmas Eve.

I had a scare about 10 days ago. I went in to the ER, where they told me Quattro had stopped growing 8 weeks previous and had no heartbeat. A follow up ultrasound a few days later confirmed what we feared, and I came home to wait out the missed miscarriage.

On Christmas Eve, it all ended, thus the damper on our holiday.

Not much else to say.

  5. May God uphold you in this difficult time. I've followed your blog for quite awhile but haven't commented much. I know that this is a very tough time for you and your family. I truly believe that God chooses very special people to carry babies that He intends to take to Himself without you being able to hold them. May His peace prevail in your heart!

  8. So sorry. I suffered a missed miscarriage in March at 11 weeks. The baby only measured at 6 weeks. I'm currently 21 weeks with a baby girl and have been terrified the whole time. Praying for you and your family.

  14. I've also been through this - miscarrying at 10.5 weeks a baby that was about 8 weeks along. There are no words that make it better or make it go away. Just know that there are many others who have been in your shoes in a sense and are praying hard for you and your family right now.

When you feel up to it, this site was very helpful to me:

  25. Praying for you- I've been there too, lost a baby at 10 weeks. It's hard. It really helped me to name the baby and we still refer to him by that name. You will be in my thoughts and prayers often in the coming weeks.

  30. So very sorry to hear this. Of course this is going to remind you more than ever of your (temporary - Praise God) loss of Joshua, and my heart hurts for you. I'm asking God to hold you in His loving arms, even when everything seems all wrong, and to give all of you special grace, comfort, and strength. My words seem weak, but God knows the pleas of our hearts.

  32. Oh, Susie (gasp!)
I am so, so, sorry to hear of your very sad loss. My heart grieves for you and your family. Sweet Joshua now has a sibling in heaven, but I know you would give anything to have them both down here with you, Matt, and the girls. May God ease your sorrow and give comfort to you all.

  43. I am so sorry for your loss. I have followed your blog for some time but this is the first time I have felt compelled to comment. I lost my son, Fyn, when his heart stopped beating, at 16wks into my pregnancy on December 9th. This has been one of the toughest times of my life.

  44. (((((hugs))))) So sorry to hear that. Miscarriages suck. I had a similar experience where the baby stopped growing about then. May the Lord envelop you with his love.
