I've had a few people ask how to wrap a baby on your back with a Moby wrap. I always look on YouTube for tutorials when I want to do something new with my wrap. But I thought maybe you'd like to see how Naomi and I do it. :)
***I should add that I went right from doing this to finishing up my dinner dishes. I only had a few left to do and she was asleep by the time I finished. I was so happy tonight - I unwrapped the Moby slowly, slid her off my back, wrapped her in a blanket, and laid her down for the night! Woohoo!***
That was great! I wish I had carried my kids on my back - I did the front carrying exclusively. With the Moby/sling anyways.
ReplyDeleteWe do have a backpack that I use and Eliza loves but it hurts me after about 20 minutes. I am hoping to make some sort of Mei Tai to carry Eliza in. She is super content on my back but the backpack hurts and is so bulky.

LOVE this - thanks for sharing - bookmarking this! I made my own Moby-ish wrap & can't wait to wear my baby in it in just 8 weeks! :) I wore my son on my back in a backpack carrier after 6 months or so, and yes, it's so much easier for dishes, vacuuming, etc. I love how she cranes & looks around - so cute! :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, I saw one video on either babywearing.com or Youtube that was called something about a 'chest belt' - and after you get baby up on your back initially, you tie the 2 sides of the Moby in a knot on your chest & then the baby is a little bit more secure while you're wrapping her on the rest of the way - I might try that b/c I have never been able to wrap my son on my back in the Moby yet.
Of course I don't need to learn how to wrap a baby but it was so great to hear your voice, and see naomi! You look great!
ReplyDeleteNice! I never tried carrying my last one on my back with the Moby, I might have to try it with this one (due in 6 weeks) when s/he is old enough.
ReplyDeletewow that is amazing! she is so cute.
ReplyDeleteYay. I am excited to start our family + use one of these as well. Haha. I used it once, when babysitting.
ReplyDeleteOh my! I don't thik I could do this!! lol I am so uncoordinated, but she does look so cozy!! {grin}
ReplyDeleteOh Susie! I think I laughed the WHOLE way through that video... Naomi's flailing legs, she looks SO happy. (Laughing NOT because it looked funny, but it looked FUN).
ReplyDeleteYou're so good at this mommy stuff and sharing your knowledge. Good work hun. xx

ReplyDeleteP.S. I think your hair looks really nice! :-) I can see where Oceana gets her curls from! :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Susie! I have a Moby and I love it for my very little babes on the front. Had NO clue how to put the little ones on the back though (did it with my older kiddo - who I taught to "hang on!") I am going to break the Moby back out for my 9-month-old. I think it'll be a little warmer roaming around this winter! Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteWOW, that was fun!! I was tiried after you finished, PHEW, that looks hard!!! Bryce was like, "wwwwhhhaaatt??"? hahaha, you loook good Susie, love the hair!!! Hey, how bout some highlights sayyy, in december??? ehhh???

I watched it out of curiosity and was very impressed. You've got SKILLS, lady! I was laughing at Naomi hamming it up too; she is SO cute and looks so happy! Your hair is really pretty, too--had no idea it was so LONG.
ReplyDeletei am a long time lurker but i just had to comment... susie... you are so darn adorable! naomi is cute but you take the cake! thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say thanks for this video, all I could find online was people saying not do do a back carry with a Moby! I tried it with my daughter today (4.5 months) and it is fantastic, very secure and comfy for both of us :)
