Say hello to my little friend!

Penicillin is my friiiiiieeeeeeeend!

That's right ladies and gentlemen! The doctor (bless his heart) took one look at my throat - didn't even need to swab it and informed me....

Strep throat.

Felt like it. No wonder.

He said I may have a sinus infection-y virus, but that since I'm getting penicillin already, it's no worry - coz EVERYTHING SHALL DIE. Ahahaha. Bwhahaha. I feel better already.

Oh, and don't do it unless your doctor says so, but I'm allowed to have aspirin and panadol (acetaminophen) at the same time. In another 5 minutes I can go start popping pills. I shouldn't be so happy about it, but after a 4 day headache, a throat that was so swollen I thought something was stuck in my throat, an earache, and fever and chills - I'm just thrilled to the moon that I get some antibiotics in me.

Glory.

  1. Yep, strep throat is a deal breaker in every way and won't go away by itself. I am so glad you are on antibiotics to keep it's butt. I hope you are the only one who gets it, not that I wish it on you, but you already have it. Get well girl and Oceana's Cinderella and Disney stash is what us Grandparents love doing the most, besides loving on them.
    Be well soon:)

  7. I hope you start feeling better quickly...I have been on 3 doses of antibiotics since February...so I understand completely! These bugs just take FOREVER literally to go away...annoying nasty little things...ugh!
Definitely hope you get back to yourself very quickly...cause I can only imagine the frustration of having a toddler and being ill...ugh! *hugs!*

  10. so good to hear you are feeling better. Sorry I haven't tuned in for a week as I;ve been flat out doing and thinking about end of term stuff. The holidays are upon us though when I will be able to think about more than - how many things can we make that begin with the letter... It's fun but also becomes tiring when children's experiences are so limited that they haven't heard of things I think would be fun to make. So then I have to get books from the library etc to introduce them.
Oh well, one can never say I am bored.
    take care

  11. That's great news. Hey, do you think that maybe I caught your virus from your blog? he,he. The pollen in Georgia is horrible, and I woke up with the worst sinus infection. Blech. Mommy's aren't supposed to get sick. >;0)

What a blessing for you to have gotten some meds! Praying that you're feeling better quickly!

  12. I've just caught up on your posts. I'm sooooo glad you're having your infection treated. You'll feel better so fast now.

I've read Eliot's blog, 99 Balloons, and watched his life video, so your post about Joshua's 99th day has deep meaning for me.

I think about Joshua a lot, actually every day, since I check your blog frequently and see his pictures there and on the embedded video of him on my own site. He has a special place in my heart although I never met him personally. He engenders love, even from a blog across the world. He makes me want to be the best person I can, to be a great parent to my daughter once I receive her, and to treat others around me as I would like to be treated to the utmost of my capability.

All children are innocent in the eyes of the Lord and that means Joshua never new imperfection or wrong, only love and right.

I continue to pray for you and your family, often by name, sometimes as a specific thought when I pray for the blessing of all families who are grieving the loss of loved ones.

  13. I'm glad you'll be feeling better soon. Sinus infections wipe me out...and strep throat is just torture. I LOVED the pics of Oceana's party. She's such a sweet little thing...sounds like we'll be potty training at the same time (eek!) Only my DD is more like almost 2 1/2....good luck!

  14. Isn't it bizarre how, as moms, we will do anything and everything in our power to keep our little ones feeling their best, but we often neglect ourselves until we feel like we're on the verge of death? What's UP with that?

Glad you're already starting to feel better!

Princess goodies...my Puckey would be SO into that!

  16. Awwww, so glad your doc is so generous!

Now, eat plenty of yogurt so the antibiotics don't wreak havoc on your lower gastrointestinal highway.

(was that worded appropriately enough for the squeamish?)
