Joshua's still here. He's still not eating really well - but between dribbling it in and an eye dropper we've managed to give him about 6oz.
Thank you for your overwhelming response to yesterday's post. One of these days - like when I'm 60 and have time on my hands - I'll compile all those comments into Joshua's scrapbook. There are so many I'm tired just thinking about it! :)
His head looks bruised now because the pressure is pushing his veins to the surface.

His new hat requires its own post... but what does it remind you of?
Aunt Carol - we found a way for him to enjoy you (enormous) blanket! It's his coffee table mattress (complete with travel pillow/beanbag tht contours to his head! Oh the ingenuity...
He does that one-eye-open thing a lot, as if to say, "I don't know about you all...I might not come out and play!"
That (blue?!?!) sweatsuit is what Oceana wore home from the hospital. Daddy picked it out - and insisted on it. I had to give in because the pink one was too lightweight for mid-April in New York tw years ago. I thought it was a good idea to let a BOY wear the BOY clothes. I only had to pin the pants 3" slimmer. Good grief! I'd gladly share my tummy flub with Joshua so we could both fit in our clothes!

ReplyDeleteI have just found your blog, and started to pray for your family. We are also missionaries. We have just adopted a little girl from Guatemala, and found out she is totally deaf in both ears. She has had cochlear implant surgery on both her ears to hopefully help her hear.

ReplyDeleteWhen Amy died it helped for me to remember that it won't matter to God or Joshua whether he walked, ran...(the list is infinite)when he is with Him. We don't need to feel sad that he missed those things for his sake because after all he is with the Almighty! He's he lucky one! Try to keep your milestones for him simple - just a you have been - rejoicing in all moments you have together

My throat aches from sobs held back, and my eyes sting from unshed tears.. oops, there one goes!..And another! Oh, how I will cry when that inevitible day comes. We have never spoken, and we probably wouldn't know each other if we passed each other in the street, but I wish so desperately we did, and that I could comfort you more adequately. Give us your list of hopes, dear, so we can pray them along-side you. Is there a specific way you wish Joshua to go with Jesus? Is there anything you wish to do with him before he does?
